Thank you for checking out my website! My name is Jordan Hinds, and I am a 2022 graduate from CU Boulder with a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and a certificate in Engineering Management. I have recently accepted an offer from Raytheon Technologies in Tucson, AZ, where I will fulfill the Design & Specialty Engineer role for their Missiles and Defense department. I am originally from Boulder, CO, and feel blessed to call it my hometown. I am grieved to move away from my friends, family, the cold winter nights, the breathtaking mountaintop heights, and all the other memories I've made here. Nonetheless, I am excited to begin my next journey, create still new memories, and grow as a mechanical engineer. I'm primarily interested in engineering opportunities related to biomedicine, defense technology, or the automotive industry. But more importantly, as an engineer I am ultimately striving to use my time, talents, and resources towards creating a better community for myself and others.
My journey through academia has been adventurous, challenging, and above all, rewarding. From the COVID-19 pandemic to last-minute project redesigns, the path I took to becoming an engineer has been full of twists, corners, bends, and U-turns. I hope to use what I've learned in school, along with my diverse experiences, to change the world around me for the better.
Please feel free to have a look around or connect with me! Though I have made it far from where I began, the journey is not over.
I am the middle of three brothers. My older brother is currently on active duty in the U.S. Navy, while my younger brother is finishing up his Business degree at Colorado State University. Here is an old memory from the summer of 2016, when my family and I visited St. George's Island in Florida. I am pictured kneeling down on the sand next to my two cousins.
Many of my hobbies and fun activities include being active in some way. Whether it's hitting the gym, climbing, playing frisbee, or working on my car, I try to keep myself active as much as I can. Other things I enjoy include dirt biking, cooking, target practicing, singing, watching various animes, and playing video games. I also enjoy growing in my faith as a Christian, and aspire to "be doers of the Word, not hearers only, deceiving yourselves" (James 1:22 ESV). Most importantly, I am passionate about learning new skills, and aim to dedicate as much of my time and effort towards that goal. At the left is a picture of myself competing at my high school ultimate frisbee team's statewide tournament in 2016.
